3 Indispensable Tools Accreditation Preparation & Compliance image

No matter where you are in the accreditation process, IACET has the right tool for you as you explore accreditation, plan for initial accreditation, or prepare for re-accreditation.

In March 2021, the Accreditation Review Committee added some instructive language and expanded guidance that describes acceptable evidence and clarifies what needs to be addressed.in the Initial and the Reaccreditation Applications.

To replace the Self-Assessment Checklist, three new tools have been created to reflect this new application language and address the three different stages of accreditation mentioned above.

Accreditation Readiness Calculator

For those exploring accreditation, we recommend the Accreditation Readiness Calculator. Your organization can use this questionnaire as a tool to assess your program and its readiness to start the accreditation journey based on your calculated score. You can find this resource in the IACET Store and purchase at no cost.

Initial Application for Accreditation Planning Checklist

If you have made the decision to pursue accreditation and you have purchased the IACET Standard and Application, you will also have access to the Initial Accreditation Application Planning Checklist. The checklist is intended to help you assess your continuing education/training (CE/T) organization’s current compliance with the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard prior to assembling and submitting your application for initial accreditation. It can also be used as a project management tool to track efforts taken to satisfy compliance requirements for any given Element of the Standard.

Accredited Provider Periodic Review Checklist

The Accredited Provider (AP) Periodic Review Checklist was developed to be practical and relevant for APs who are conducting self-audits of IACET compliance each year and who are preparing for their five-year reaccreditation. You can use the checklist to review your program at least annually for having the necessary policies, processes, and evidence documentation in place to be compliant with the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training. Be sure to sign and date your Periodic Review Checklist and upload with your IACET Annual Report. This checklist can be found on your AP Annual Reports landing page in the Accreditation Management System (AMS) portal.
