The International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), an educational standards organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. (Tynetta) Ty Kelley as Director of Accreditation and Training. She will assume responsibilities on March 23, 2020.
For nearly two decades, Dr. Kelley has served as a post-secondary instructor of English and Communications in traditional and online classrooms. As a learner-focused educator with an orientation toward knowledge acquisition and application, she has worked with many students throughout the world to facilitate meaningful learning experiences through critical thinking and reflection in order to inform theory and practice, and stimulate a rich marketplace of ideas.
Dr. Kelley began her career in television news, where she worked in production and on the assignment desk with ABC News and FOX News. She has also worked in the areas of marketing and communications. With a strong research background, she transitioned to positions within the U.S. Departments of Commerce and Education. She has worked with teams and led teams at various points in her career. In 2001, Dr. Kelley returned to the classroom, but this time as an instructor, which began stateside and then abroad in China, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. In addition to ESL, she also taught a myriad of courses in the Communications discipline, as well as business soft skills. Dr. Kelley is as a certified corporate trainer, and a facilitator in the HarvardManage Mentor curriculum.
Dr. Kelley holds a Doctorate, Management/Organizational Leadership, University of Phoenix, Dissertation: A Phenomenological Study Of African Americans In The Workplace And The Employee Engagement Construct; an MA, Media Studies/Corporate Communications, New School University; and a BA, Journalism, Temple University. She resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
