IACET has a long tradition of recognizing members who provide exemplary service to the association through its distinguished service award.  This year, IACET honors a person who is no stranger to the IACET community. This year's distinguished service award goes to Kris Newbauer (pictured to the left below with IACET Chairman Peter Finn). Kris Newbauer is the Head of Global People & Talent for Rotary International which is one of the largest non-profit and humanitarian networks in the world.  Just this year, Newbauer was also voted by the Global Human Resources and Development Congress in Mumbai as 1 of 100 most influential global HR leaders in the world.

In addition to his non-profit leadership role, Newbauer serves on the faculty in the Department of Leadership and Development in the College of Education at Northeastern Illinois University where he teaches graduate courses in organizational development, measurement and evaluation in human resource development.  He previously served on the adjunct faculty in the Department of Education Policy, Organizational Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

Kris Newbauer has served IACET and provided excellent leadership at crucial times. He has served as one of IACET’s past presidents, secretaries, executive committee and board members. 

In addition to his many accomplishments, Newbauer was recently chosen by the Association for Talent Development or ATD to be the 2019 ATD Conference and Exhibition Chair which will put him in touch with numerous distinguished leaders in talent development and not to mention Oprah Winfrey.
