September 5, 2017 - Reston, Virginia USA

The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) announced today that it has tapped Teri Laliberte as the new Director of Accreditation and Special Projects.

Teri Laliberte comes to IACET with over 25 years of experience in adult education. She has worked with adult learners as a trainer, teacher and mentor.  The early part of her teaching career was spent teaching English (ESL) internationally.  After earning a Master’s in Applied Linguistics, she lived in Turkey and Poland.  Once back in the US she became a trainer for k12 teachers working with gifted children.  After a brief hiatus to stay home with her three children she returned to ESL as a Director for several University programs.  While partnering with Universities she worked with the language programs to become accredited by Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).  Working through the ACCET process helped her identify the importance and value of accreditation.  Moving from the academic world to the association world she developed a train-the-trainer program and standardized much of the training for the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) in addition to developing a global trainer program.  While at ASSE Teri was the manager in charge of the IACET accreditation so she begins her position with relevant knowledge of the IACET process.

IACET’s CEO Joe McClary said, “We are excited to have someone of Teri’s caliber onboard.  Teri has firsthand knowledge of IACET and knows the benefits of accreditation for programs and learners. She believes whole heartedly in the mission of IACET and will be a great asset to us.”

Teri can be reached by contacting IACET.
