The "Introduction to Neurodiversity for C/ET Professionals" is a 45-minute webinar designed to provide an overview of neurodiversity and its relevance for C/ET professionals. This webinar aims to enhance participants' understanding of neurodiversity, promote inclusive practices, and offer practical strategies for effectively working with neurodiverse individuals. During the webinar, participants will explore the history of neurodiversity, which recognizes and values the natural variations in neurological functioning found in the human population. The session will cover various neurodivergent conditions, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and Tourette syndrome. Participants will gain insights into the strengths, challenges, and unique perspectives associated with these conditionse.
Learning Objective
By the end of the webinar, learners will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of recognizing and respecting neurodiverse individuals’ unique strengths and abilities.
- Provide a sample of some experiences and challenges faced by neurodiverse individuals.
- Demonstrate best practices in creating inclusive and supportive environments for neurodiverse individuals.
