A Practical Approach to Training Adults is an engaging and powerful blended workshop that covers current and traditional adult learning theories and practical instructional design and delivery strategies and techniques. Taught by our IACET commissioners, this workshop will provide learners with foundational knowledge, tools, and techniques to immediately enhance their unique experiences, expand their abilities to deliver quality learning events, and produce a sound return on investment.
This workshop content uniquely aligns with the new ANSI/IACET 1-2023 Standard for Continuing Education and Training. It also prepares instructors and CE/T professionals to support their organizations’ accreditation efforts by providing high-quality learning experiences and programs.
Pre Work: There will be a short elearning module (about 30 minutes) that will be delivered through IACET's LMS to prepare learners for the actual virtual workshop. Completing this module will be required and tracked.
Learners will have opportunities to immediately apply concepts while completing a training plan and presenting a "capstone" project.
Recommended Audience: This workshop is designed for those who are new to training and subject matter experts who are assisting with the development and delivery of training.

Ena Primous has more than 20+ years combined experience in finance and Higher Education.
Currently, she oversees the Budget for the Operations Sector of a multi-campus community college in the Midwest. She assists departments in making financial decisions about major resources for the college. She analyzes and recommends enhancements of business processes to conform with the Board Policy and Administrative Procedures. As well as, compliance with government and state regulations.
She is an Adjunct Faculty Member – Teaching College Orientation Classes. She has completed the Project Management Course – seeking to complete certification soon. Ena holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and a Master of Business Administration both from Webster University.

Success in a learning event is dependent on active participation and engagement by the attendee throughout the course. In order to earn a course completion certificate and digital badge for any IACET learning event, attendees are required to fully participate in the training activities, lectures, and discussion. This applies to those attending in-person and remotely. Participation is defined as greater than 90% attendance of the scheduled course time and active engagement verified by the facilitator. Remote participation requires a working webcam and microphone; the webcam must be activated throughout the learning event.
Full refunds are available for cancelations with written notification to info@iacet.org within 20 days of the event. Refunds of 50% of the registration are available within 10 days of the event. No refund is available 5 days prior to the event due to prepaid expenses on behalf of the participant.
