The Professional Development Program, part of Rockefeller College at the University at Albany, supports and enhances the public policy mission of the State through training, research, and evaluation studies and its commitment to continuing professional education and extended learning.
PDP began with a small contract with the former New York State Department of Social Services in 1975 and grew through agreements with other government agencies in implementing a range of education and training programs and has since established an international reputation for delivering quality learning products on time and on budget--a track record that has resulted in multi-million dollar funding.
Now one of the largest university-based continuing professional education programs in the nation, PDP is a valued and sought-after partner, with over 190 highly-skilled employees. PDP typically serves over 400,000 participants through approximately 3,500 instructional activities on an annual basis. PDP has long been committed to the concept of the university of the future--a teaching and research institution that is responsive to the public service.
