The 2017-18 U.S. News & World Report rankings again placed Duke University Hospital on the national Honor Roll, naming it the #17 medical center in the country.

Research
Duke Health encompasses one of the largest biomedical research enterprises­­­­­­ in the country, with more than $650 million annually in sponsored research expenditures (FY16).
Duke University School of Medicine also ranks among the top American medical schools in National Institutes of Health grant funding (excluding R&D contracts and ARRA awards) with more than $304 million in the 2016 fiscal year.
Duke is home to the nation's largest and oldest academic clinical research organization – the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). DCRI has conducted studies at more than 37,000 sites in 65 countries, enrolling more than 1.2 million patients and generating more than 10,000 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
