Housing First Minnesota is the leading voice for Minnesota builders and remodelers representing approximately 900+ residential builders, remodelers, developers, and building industry suppliers. Twenty-six people work at Housing First Minnesota with two people dedicated to Contractor University, with support from other staff as needed (creative design, advocacy - building code legislative updates, etc.).
Housing First Minnesota is widely recognized as a powerful force at the Minnesota Legislature and with state regulatory agencies. It's also the presenter of signature events including the Parade of Homes, Remodelers Showcase, and Artisan Home Tour. In addition to Contractor University, Housing First Minnesota offers Minnesota's Green Path, the leading energy efficiency and green building program for the residential construction industry in Minnesota. Advancing the dream of homeownership for Minnesotans is Housing First Minnesota's calling.
Contractor University provides training that helps Minnesota and Wisconsin builders, Minnesota building officials and Minnesota realtors meet their continuing education requirements, as well as providing educational content that helps industry professionals grow their businesses. Continuing education courses offered by Contractor University are approved by the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry, Minnesota Department of Commerce, and Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional Services. Contractor University also offers IACET CEUs to learners.
Contractor University offers more than 45+ online/on-demand courses - more courses for Minnesota contractors than any other provider. Live webinar courses are held annually January through March.
