Reston, VA, September 27, 2016) – During its annual Business Meeting on September 22, 2016 in Ft. Worth, Texas, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) presented its 2016 Awards. These honorees are deserving innovators who have significantly contributed to the field of continuing education and training. The award winners are:
- The Exemplar Training Organization Award, IACET’s most prestigious award, goes to Houston, Texas based Wollam Petroleum Advisory Group, LLC for their exemplary, results-oriented program. Wollam’s Group developed the American Petroleum Institute Q2 Professional, five-day program that teaches how to control and mitigate risks to avoid disasters such as the Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Horizon oil spill. IACET also recognizes the Rochester, New York based firm CypherWorx, Inc. with honorable mention on its program that serves over one million professional afterschool youth workers who strive to better the lives of children nationwide.
- The IACET Innovation of the Year for Learner Engagement Award goes to two organizations. First the Marshalltown, Iowa based Fisher Products at Emerson Educational Services for developing eLearning, classroom voting systems, blended learning, and a learning management systems that incorporates numerous innovative technologies. Second, the Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas based United States Army Management Staff College (AMSC) for their innovative approach to engagement in the classroom learning environment. AMSC’s approach includes collaborative problem-solving events led by trained facilitators, tailoring learning to students, and dramatically reducing or eliminating instructor-led slide presentation/lectures.
- The IACET Innovation of the Year Award for Technology Integration goes to Linthicum, Maryland based Defense Security Service Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE). CDSE uses innovating distance learning solutions to facilitate virtual roundtables, town halls, and an executive speaker series. CDSE has developed content that is relevant to major organizations within DoD, such as the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy and organizations within the National Industrial Security Program.
