High performing instructional design (ID) project teams made up of talented instructional design experts (IDEs) and subject matter experts (SMEs) have great potential to create and deliver impactful learning experiences.
However, just like any other project, designing and developing learning can be fraught with challenges such as power struggles, steep learning curves, scope creep, miscommunication, and utter chaos. The impacts of such challenges can be low morale, poor (or no) results, added expense, missed deadlines, and stress.
